SummaryLayton Construction is seeking detail-oriented, self-starting data specialist in Layton's Sandy, Utah, office. Your job will be to work with the Marketing Database Manager to update and enter information into the company database that is used for business analytics, as well as develop and manage processes and procedures for data entry, manage users, develop reports, and train new/existing users.


  • Will update information in the Cosential database in accordance to a set style guide using multiple input sources (i.e. MS Word, MS Excel, InDesign, etc.).
  • Will search company records to consolidate and compare available information in the database.
  • Will reach out to key personnel (or create emails to forward to key personnel) to verify and/or gather new project information.
  • Will maintain open communication with Layton's Marketing Information Specialist as projects are completed, if something is not understood, if information does not match, or to offer systems improvements (comfort with this open feedback is huge).
  • Will manage system updates and perform quality checks for data and system integrity.
  • Will help develop and implement processes and procedures for data entry, as well as maintain existing processes and procedures (including training and documentation).
  • Will train new and existing users to Cosential and participate in the regional user group (as well as train) including the development of training materials.
  • Will manage and develop new reports and templates, and make sure they sync to Cosential.
  • Will help manage seasonal data entry intern(s), including hiring, onboarding, performance reviews, task management, and offboarding.
  • Will help develop and manage custom dashboards for individual teams.
  • Will help develop training materials for regular users and data entry personnel.
  • May be asked to use new module buildouts to test them (and provide improvement feedback) prior to company-wide rollout.


  • College-level coursework related to marketing, communications, or another related field
  • Must have incredible attention to detail, and ability to standardize information from multiple inputs/sources in accordance to a set style guide.
  • Must be able to find information from multiple sources.
  • Must be able to prepare emails that will be forwarded to key staff to gather or verify missing information (after exhausting all other sources).
  • Must be comfortable providing feedback and asking questions (this is a new team, and open feedback is huge).
  • Ability to self-start and remain motivated on long-term tasks.
  • Previous experience with the Cosential Database is preferred, but not required.
  • Prior corporate experience is preferred, but not necessary.
